What is the paint’s expiry date?
Expiration dates can be different; from 1 to 5 years. The paints on the basis of water binders have a shorter expiration date compared to solvent-based paints. All our products are marked with an expiration date.
How to paint (or remove) SPEKTRA DOMFLOK LACQUER with flakes?
We recommend the following restoration procedure:
1. Once the surface is clean and free of grease, sand with sanding paper with grain size 120, and dust off thoroughly
2. 1x application of SPEKTRA DECOR grund. Drying 4 – 6 hours
3. 1 – 2x smoothening with SPEKTRA interior putty
4. Sanding of putty once dry
5. 2x painting with SPEKTRA PREMIUM washable paint.
The paint can be shaded in over 3000 shades at all sales points with the HGMIX mixing system.
How long do I have to wait for paints mixed with the HGMIX system?
The preparation time to get a colour in the selected shade is very short, but also depends on a few factors.
Once the customer confirms the selected shade, the salesperson needs 5 minutes at most to prepare the paint.
Based on the available stock of BORI, SPEKTRA and TESSAROL paints and the required shaded pastes, the sales personnel will prepare the paint in the requested shade for you. Fast preparation and the repeatability of the selected shades are thus two of the advantages of using the paints made with the HGMIX mixing system.
Are differences in shades possible, and according to which standards?
Shades are confirmed with a spectrophotometer (tool for measuring the difference between the standard and the sample) or/and visually.
The most frequent cause for major differences in shades are:
• The paint was not mixed well enough before use or not mixed at all
• The shade of woodstain coatings is strongly affected by the type of surface (wood), the different textures of the same type of wood, and the thickness of the coating
In addition to the factors mentioned above, the perception of the shade is also influenced by the following:
• The light in which we are evaluating the shade
• Surface of the coating (smooth, rough, glossy, semi-matt, matt)
